Well what can I say this company is brilliant. our driver was tucker what an amazing man great sense of humour really made the tour for us 6 girls from cork. he made it very fun and easy going to listen to. I loved listening to the tales from both sides. having done that tour before have to say tuckers was the best and brought a tear to my eye. such a helpful person no question was to big or small to answer. his knowledge was so fun to listen to unlike some guided tours you loose interest very fast because the tour guide has a boring voice. like something read from script. would defo do more tours when we return. Great personality with people just had a way about him. 10/10 for effort 10/10 for presentation. 10/10 for just everything about him and his tour

Our black cab tour of West Belfast was easily the highlight of our week long stay. Pete, our driver, was hugely knowledgable and even-handed, taking us through the history of Northern Ireland, through the Troubles and Good Friday agreement right up to the present day. The loyalist and nationalist murals, the peace lines, and the metal cages still attached to houses were a fascinating and sobering reminder of this city's troubled past. Pete ended the tour with the tantalising possibility that there may be a united Ireland in our lifetimes. The tour was advertised as taking 90-120 minutes. Ours took 2 and a half hours. All in all, tremendous value, a superb history lesson, memories that will linger, and a conclusion that peace and hope will prevail. Thoroughly recommended.

My partner and I took this tour today with Isaac. I can't speak highly enough of this tour, it was absolutely brilliant.
Isaac was passionate and explained everything in great detail. He also kept a very balanced view whilst on the tour by explaining things from the view of the community of which we were currently in.
We didn't know a great deal about the troubles other than the basics and we came away having learned a lot.
We had plenty of stops for photo opportunities and he was a safe driver. Also his Mercedes van was very comfortable, clean, and had excellent viewing angles with the many windows.
Also noted that we visited a lot more sights than other tours we saw en route.
We would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Belfast.

We were recommended to take a cab tour of Belfast. We checked out a few online and this company had the best reviews so we decided to book with them. I'll start off with saying our tour guide Pody was a gentleman but not only that he made us feel welcome from the get go. The tour itself was so informative and very interesting along with being a complete eye opener for us culchies from the south of Ireland. It was an unbiased tour and gave both sides of the troubles. No question was ever too stupid to ask and Pody always answered unbiased and truthfully. If you want to learn the true history of Belfast I would highly recommend this company and only hope you get to meet the gentleman Pody himself. Thanks for a memorable tour Pody, from Rachael Pádraic Tíerna and Elara in Tipp x

Very interesting and enjoyable tour that really enhanced our trip to Belfast. We learned so much about The Troubles and the current climate in Belfast (very safe city, but interesting to see how the different cultures remain intact and separated in some areas still).
Nigel was an excellent guide and a wealth of knowledge. It was fascinating to see the Falls Rd and Shankill Rd, the murals, the gates, and the peace walls. We did this tour our first day and the information proved to be helpful and relevant for other tours and sightseeing we did throughout our trip - in fact, without his tour, I don’t think we would have fully grasped the weight and importance of everything. This tour is a must!
Safe driver, prompt, clean and comfortable vehicle.

My brother and I took this tour yesterday. It was a gray and rainy day, but it was absolutely worth it! I had read a bit about the history of the Troubles, but getting to experience it so closely was truly an impactful experience.
Isaac our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about the history and the communities it impacted. He was very balanced and encouraged us to ask questions and take tons of pictures.
The van was very comfy and he was a very safe driver. He was also kind enough to drop us off at the Titanic Experience as we had to go visit it after our Black Cab tour was done. Overall I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting
Belfast. A very unique, informative, and enriching experience. And ask for Isaac,
he’s truly top class!

Stevie was brilliant from the start with a few dad jokes that had us all laughing. The tour was brilliant, stevie was very informative from the moment we met, he took the time to explain all the history as to how and why the conflict had started before we even moved off. He was totally non biased to one community or the other and when he was telling the history of the communities, he started everything with we.
Some very moving and quite emotional stories of events that happened over the years.
We left the tour far more informed about the history, the reasons why and the struggles that the people of Northern Ireland have faced over the years.
A must do tour if you want to know the history of Northern Ireland from the people that were there.
Cab tours Belfast were brilliant.

We decided whilst on the hop on hop off bus tour we wanted to look more behind the scenes and more indepth. Whats behind the murials the people and the areas. We was also doing crumlin road jail so decided to upgrade to do both. Tbe ticket office sorted it all out for us and we arrived at 9.45 same time as Danny H, he asked us what we had seen and done so he could tailor his trip, he took us into both of the communities and told us the story of the people, how he felt uneasy being one side but not the other. Its amazing how all the communities live side by side but only mox at work and for leisure, we left with joy and horror on what had happened, and what is being done to make it better, we had done the bus tour twice but Danny H, made it so personal, thanks Danny

Excellent moment ! On recommande vivement

In June, my wife and I took a trip to Ireland and our first stop was Belfast and on our first day in Belfast we took the Black Taxi tour with Stevie. It was excellent, Stevie was excellent! We had a great time in Ireland, saw many great things, and nothing is going to stick with me like this tour and Stevie's unpacking of Belfast's recent history. It was unlike any city tour I've ever been on. It was eye-opening, emotional, and made me want to go and read and learn more about Belfast in a way that I was not expecting. I cannot recommend this tour more. And I know that I already did recommend it to someone (a mother and son) who was in Belfast a couple weeks after we were and they took the tour and they requested Stevie as well and they equally loved it. Easy 5 stars.

Kieran picked us up at the Titanic museum in a black cab after we booked the tour the day before and he was incredibly knowledgeable, polite, and also injected some great humor as we went on. The Troubles is a difficult subject and our minds were blown! The divide by religious and political beliefs was even more punctuated by the town getting ready for the Marching season and the bonfires in a few days. Also our guide was known by everyone all over town so everywhere we stopped we met some colorful people. He let us out to explore the walls and sites for a few minutes on our own as well as talked to us about each one. His discussions were balanced and focused on the human conditions which was powerful. He also had us bellowing with laughter a couple of times.
~ Michael G
Our driver was Martin who did a fantastic job of showing us the walls and its history throughout the neighborhoods of Belfast. He was very informative and provided us with the necessary background information to get a true understanding of the divide that exists in Northern Ireland. He actually told us before we started the tour that it was up to us to guess if he was Catholic or Protestant and that he was trying to hide any biases and stay neutral during his explanations of the unrest. He did a great job as my family of 4 were divided as to his religious denomination. His cab was clean and roomy and we had several stops where we got out and walked along the walls. It was a very sobering experience and one you should not miss if in Belfast.

We thought we had a pretty good understanding of The Troubles, and then we went on a black taxi tour with Danny and learned so much more. He presented a clear overview of the various aspects of the conflicts and helped us see that these issues still reverberate today. It was unsettling to see the scars and memorials of the violence in both Catholic and Protestant neighborhoods, and fascinating to see how murals and posters depict the past and convey warnings about the future as well. There are more walls in Belfast now than there were during the height of The Troubles, and the gates between neighborhoods are still locked at night. It’s a moving and thought-provoking experience that we recommend for those lucky enough to visit Belfast. Many thanks to Danny for an unforgettable tour.
~ Lauren D
Stevie collected us from our hotel in the city centre at the agreed time which proceeded on the tour to firstly the protestant and then catholic areas of the city, seeing the murals, peace walls and peace gates gates all whilst giving an incredible insight into the lives of both sets of communities and details of the troubles with an impartial viewpoint. Stevie is a brilliantly warm guide and he even had a few good gags too which added a bit of needed comic relief. This tour was really profound and what Stevie told us with stay with us forever. I can’t recommended this tour enough if you want to know more about the troubles and what both communities have experienced and what life is like for them now.
~ Lee
All of us loved the tour. We now have a better understanding of what the troubles were all about and the state of peace today. The tour guide was great but we did not get to ride in the Black Cab as we thought we would. Instead we road in a mini-van which turned out to be better and likely more comfortable. If you do want to ride in the authentic London taxi, I was told you need to specifically request that, although I didn't see anywhere to do so. It does say "from the comfort of a black taxi cab or executive vehicle" so I would make sure to contact them and make sure you get what you want. If I had it to do again, I would probably request the mini-van anyway just for the comfort and ability to open the side door at sites that you don't get out at or for mobility impaired guests. Ask for the "Rick Steves driver."

This is one of the most memorable tours/activities that we’ve ever done on holidays anywhere. If you’re coming to Belfast, I’d say this is a must-do. Members of our families had told us this: now we know why. Informative, thought-provoking, confronting - and so moving.
Danny L was such a great guide, he gave us a colourful, respectful, authentic insight into The Troubles. Danny brought the real people and real places bursting into life for four Australians who were looking for some idea about went on. We thought we knew some stuff - we really had no idea. At times, the emotional response to what we were seeing and hearing was quite overwhelming.
Thank you Cab Tours Belfast and our guide Danny L for giving us such a memorable experience; we will never forget.
May peace, hope and love prevail.

My wife and I booked the GBP50 90 minute tour on Monday 28 August (a bank holiday) with Caolan and we couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. He took us to both sides of the Peace Wall and provided a non-partisan discussion of the historical issues which led to The Troubles in the late 1960s without making any judgments or taking a political position. we got the chance to sign the Peace Wall, visit the Clonard Monastery which was a pivotal location in the peace process, walk along the International Wall and stop by the headquarters of Sinn Fein (usually open but closed due to bank holiday). Caolan was punctual, friendly and accommodating for our photo requests and we highly recommend Cab Tours Belfast.

This is an absolute must-do activity while visiting Belfast. Pody, our guide, gave us a balanced and fair perspective of both sides of the conflict as he took us through the different neighborhoods involved in The Troubles. He didn't even tell us his name or which area he was from until the very end. We were four in our group and we were all unsure about which area he was from. He told us interesting stories, had a lot of great jokes, and told us to keep an open mind and listen. It was a fascinating tour and Pody was a highlight himself. Great tour, awesome guide! One thing to be aware of is that the tour is paid in cash at the end. The guides do not carry card readers on the vehicle so don't get caught out like we did and come prepared with cash for payment and good tip for your hard-working guide!

Absolutely amazing Tour!

You probably don’t know everything you think you know about Ireland’s struggle for identity and independence until you’ve taken this tour. You will get a candid, unabridged and thorough history from the people who were actually born into turbulence and unrest.
Our guide, Eddie, was the BEST. Besides being very friendly and welcoming, he was also very knowledgeable and chronicled the TRUE Irish saga that should be part of the history curriculum at every university.
This trip will convince you to disregard EVERYTHING the corporate media and government (of any party) tells you about the Irish struggle and hear it from those who live it daily.
Thanks, Cab Tours Belfast Black Taxi Tours and especially Eddie! What a great experience!!

Had an excellent time on the black cab tour with Addey our tour guide. It was great to get a local perspective and learn the history from someone who actually lived through it. He was very knowledgeable and had us leaving the tour with a better understanding of the troubles. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Belfast, it truly is a must see. There was some slight confusion as we were told the pick up point was Belfast city hall but it was actually “near” city hall. The person who called me was very helpful guiding us to the pick up point so very happy we didn’t miss the tour. Would suggest putting the actual pick up point address on your website or sending confirmation email with an address.

We had an incredible experience on the Belfast Black Taxi Tour with our driver, Dan H. From start to finish, Dan was knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about the city’s history. He struck the perfect balance between sharing the difficult truths of Belfast’s past and highlighting the resilience and warmth of its people.
Dan’s storytelling was brilliant - personal, thoughtful, and often moving. He took the time to answer all our questions and made sure we felt comfortable throughout. The murals, peace walls, and local landmarks were brought to life through his insight, and it’s a tour we’ll be recommending to anyone visiting the city.
Thank you, Dan, for making our visit to Belfast so memorable. A must-do experience!
